Our Second Weekend

On Friday after school Katie and I walked to BK and got an icecream together. Then we went to Retiro park to relax and start to plan our trips.  Trip planning is not an easy task.

With train rides, food, flights, hostels there's just a lot to consider. But we thought of where we want to go and made a list of our available weekends.

After that we went home to eat lunch. I went for a run around the Templo Debod. It was better than my other run, but I think I might have a broken bone in my foot, so I was in a little pain.

On Saturday we went with some other students from school to Segovia.  We got there at 11 and stayed until 5.  We saw the Roman aqueduct which is the best preserved in the world, the Jewish section of town, had lunch in a pretty park, went to the castle (alcazar), and took some fabulous pictures of the aqueduct. All in all if was a very nice trip.

Saturday night was El Noche en Blanco.  Its a giant cultural festival that lasts all night.  This years theme was games. They closed off C/ Gran Vía and set up giant tire swings, slides etc.  Over 717,000 people attended, and it was obvious. You could barely move through the streets. We went to a bar first and had a drink, then went to Star Studio and got dancing. After a while of dancing we got a drink at 100 Montaditos.  Then danced some more before heading to Gran Vía to see all the games.  Finally we returned home, but not before 3:30 am!

Sunday I went to church twice. When I woke up at 11:30 no one was home, so I just decided to go to church without eating breakfast. Then when I got home, no one was there still, so I went into the kitchen and noticed a note. It said that she would be back at 2 and we could go to church together later. So I just went again to not hurt her feelings. Today she told me I was the most caring student she's had stay with her because I go to church with her. I think I made a good decision.
